In 2006, as Olivier Creed sailed with his son and two royal guests through the deep blue Sir Francis Drake Channel to Ginger Island, the sea winds brought him a particularly captivating fragrance. Seductive coconut, lime, and hibiscus filled the air, and while still on the deck of his yacht, Olivier Creed jotted down the first ideas for a new perfume. When he presented the first bottle of this creation to his royal guests in Paris six months later, they spontaneously christened the composition "Virgin Island Water."
The classic Creed cap in blue symbolizes the inimitable blue of the Caribbean. The shape of the bottle remained unchanged—a shape favored by Napoleon III and a hallmark of all Creed perfumes.
